Kindergarten Program
We offer Junior and Senior Kindergarten for current and new families looking for a caring educational setting. Our trained teacher and assistant focus on teaching academics while also supporting children's spiritual and social development. We use the Abeka curriculum, which helps students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, alongside providing Christian values for everyday life. We believe every child is unique, created by God, and we aim to support and love each one. Our students move on to elementary school well-prepared, knowing they are loved and special.
Junior Kindergarten
Junior Kindergarten is a class that helps children prepare for Kindergarten, but is not considered Senior Kindergarten itself. It focuses on the individual needs of each child, providing advanced lessons as they are ready. After this class, students will move on to Senior Kindergarten.
Children who may benefit from Junior Kindergarten include those who struggle with separation from caregivers, have difficulty with self-control, or are not yet ready for Senior Kindergarten. Some may simply need more time to mature.
Overview:
Junior Kindergarten uses mainly the Abeka Curriculum, but supplements as needed with other curricula. Upon evaluation, the teacher develops an independent path for each child so that he or she can be successful in Senior Kindergarten. They attend enrichment classes such as Art, Spanish, Music, and Library. Daily unstructured playtime is also provided, along with a morning snack. Parents must supply a ready-to-eat lunch, as we do not heat or refrigerate food. After Care students receive a snack.
Ratios:
The class can have up to twenty children, with one lead teacher and one assistant teacher.
Senior Kindergarten
Age Requirement: Children must be five years old by August 15th of the school year they want to attend. They also need a positive recommendation from their CLC 4-year-old teacher to enter Senior Kindergarten. New children may need to pass an entrance assessment.
Description: Senior Kindergarten is for children who meet the age requirement and are ready for a structured program. All students will learn together throughout the year, mastering the same concepts. Those who successfully complete the program will move on to 1st grade.
Overview: Senior Kindergarten follows the Abeka Kindergarten Curriculum, providing both structured and independent learning experiences. Students have daily small-group time with a teacher and attend enrichment classes like Art, Spanish, Music, and Library. They also enjoy daily playtime on indoor or outdoor playgrounds. We provide a morning snack, but parents must pack a ready-to-eat lunch, as we do not heat or refrigerate food. Students in After-Care will receive an afternoon snack with water.
Ratios: Each classroom has a maximum of twenty children, a lead teacher, and an assistant teacher.
